Cackleberries are a treat we started using to make sure the chickens are not afraid of us.  It turns out they are crazy for this stuff.  So much so we call it “chicken crack”.

When they see you they literally come running over to you hoping for some crack.

It’s a great way to get visitors to Dyberry Creek Farm to get chickens near/close to them.

It even seems pretty healthy.  One website states:
